Smoke Screen Eye Shadow Palette |
As always, I'll begin with the eye shadow palette. The palette itself is a really good size. It's not bulky or too big and I really hope they continue to use this design. As for the eye shadows, what an interesting combination of colours, tones and finishes! You can create anything with this palette, from the most basic daytime look to an intense night time look.
Veiled / Opulent / Ember / Thunderhead |
The lightest colours don't show up very well on my super pale skin, so try to ignore imagine Veiled with a bit more pink to it. Opulent and Ember (and all the other shimmery shadows) are so pigmented and glide on like butter. The matte shadows aren't as pigmented but they're still easy to work with.
Misty / Haze / Svelte / Rave |
Row 2 has one of my new favourite colours on it; Rave. It has such a fine shimmer through it that it almost looks wet on the lid. The way it catches the light is beautiful. Misty brought me back to the Crème de Couture palette and made me fall in love with pastel colours all over again. Haze reminds me very much of Nooner from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and is a great crease/blend out colour. Svelte was a little bit disappointing when I first swatched it. It's not as pigmented as the other shades but can be built up easily.
Nebula / Atmosphere / Cinders / Almost Jet |
Well, well, well Mr third row. Aren't you the sassiest of them all? I think the colours on this row speak for themselves really. They're all very high quality and absolutely beautiful. I am so glad they included a black in this palette. I don't think any palette is complete without a black.
These eyeliners are so good. And this is coming from someone who is not a fan of kohl pencils. They glide on but then stick there. I've used Sigma kohl pencils before and there is a definite improvement in these ones.
My Cloud / Indigobird / Atomic Number 9 (Left to right) |
In the video at the bottom of this post I use the blue liners to create an ombre winged liner to show how buttery they are.
Sheila / Eleven / Get Ready |
I'm not a huge fan of lip glosses in general but I was quite excited to try these bright ones. They're quite sheer and can't really be worn on their own so they're best worn over the top of a lipstick. I've been wearing both Sheila and Eleven over the top of MAC's Flat Out Fabulous. Sheila brings out the pink in the lipstick and Eleven brings out the purple. Get Ready is the only one I haven't really used yet but I imagine it would look gorgeous over the top of an orange lipstick.
Lose the Halo |
Next up is the lip concealer. I haven't used a lip concealer before so have nothing to compare this to but I think it did the job! It definitely blocked out the colour of my lips but since I never wear nude or pale lips I don't have much need for a product like this.
Born To |
The blush is a beautiful dusty rose colour with a fine glitter through it. I don't like glitter in blush but once this is applied then glitter doesn't last very long anyway. The colour is absolutely gorgeous. I've been using this in my daily routine recently and I really like it!
On the left you can see the colour when I just swipe it on with my finger and on the right you can see how you can blend it to a natural flush colour you can also see below.
