I decided to create today's look for two reasons: many people were interested in the eyeshadow shades I was wearing in my last video, and I desperately wanted to film something with a dark lip this week. Marrying those two motivators together, this is what I came up with.
I actually wore this eye look in the Dungeons & Dragons stream I did with some friends last Monday!
The liquid lipstick by Anastasia Beverly Hills in the shade Potion is such a beautiful deep plum shade which is why I thought it would work perfectly with a the purple winged liner.

Hello strangers! It feels like a lifetime since I've posted anything on here! Today's video will give you a little insight into what's been going on in my life and a look at some items I've been loving recently.

I'd like to explain a bit more in detail about why I haven't been able to film throughout January because I feel like I owe you a full explanation instead of just quick points. I avoided writing about it while we still lived in the old flat and I wasn't making any videos because I was so worried I'd just sound like I was complaining or just making excuses!

All throughout January, and many months before although not as bad, there was a construction site in the commercial building attached to our flat. Without fail, each morning at 7am the hammering and drilling and every other industrial sound would begin and continue throughout the day, vibrating the whole house, until as late as 11pm. I don't know about you, but when I've been awake for 16 hours I'm just about ready to go back to sleep, not sit down and start getting artsy or entertaining for a video! Not to mention we had neighbours who didn't work and just spent their days and nights listening to loud music and beating the shit out of each other against the inside walls... I wish I was exaggerating. The police got involved many times but it never made a difference. And even though Brad and I work from home, since the flat couldn't be registered as a place of work, we couldn't make any complaints coming from that angle. Other problems included the flat being a gross mouldy cave with no heating or hot water but let's not go into that because it's embarrassing to admit I lived like that, haha! (It wasn't like that when we moved in. Don't worry.)
It became very clear to us that we had to get out of that place for the sake of our sanity and our work! After deciding that moving was the best option for us, we then had to work out how to get out of the contract for that flat. This took a bit of time and I ended up losing my deposit and having to pay some fees but we were finally free of that place, woo! Then the flat hunting began.
We decided around December time that the next time we moved we wanted to move to Brighton/Hove, so we decided to commit to that plan and make the jump, but even that came with some difficulties. Long story short, letting companies don't like people with unstable incomes which is all people who make a money online are. This is something I completely understand but it doesn't make it any less stressful. After having our applications rejected and our move out date quickly creeping up on us, we finally found someone willing to let to us... Two days before we had to move out! Packing up a whole house in ten boxes in an evening is not easy, let me tell you! Even if it is quite the experience. Luckily Brad's cousin had a van we could use so we didn't have to end up using some sketchy last minute moving service.
So that was my January. Then of course we moved and we didn't have any internet until last week so there was nothing I could do about that either so I decided to give myself a couple of weeks to settle in and get back into a routine before starting to focus all my attention on my channel again.
Even though I feel like I've let a lot of people down with not uploading and being absent from the internet for so long, I do feel like it's done me a lot of good mentally. I'm very lucky to have such a wonderful and inspiring little Pickles family on the internet, who I missed very much, but being disconnected and really being able to take a moment to think about my life and what I want to be doing and the direction I'm going has left me feeling incredibly inspired and motivated, which is a great feeling after having so many months feeling trapped and lost.

Without getting too soppy here because I do that plenty in the video, I am very grateful to have those of you reading this and those of you who watch my videos in my life. Thanks for sticking around, yo! I really appreciate it. ♥

Last month I was doing a lot of travelling between London and Brighton (for very exciting reasons but I'll talk about that in a different post, eee!) so my makeup of the month for December was nice and simple and created with only one palette since I like to travel light.

Face »
I'm still using my tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation (review here) but since I've been slapping on my base makeup in five minutes I've been applying the smallest amount and just blending it in with my fingers because it's a quick and easy way to do it. The great thing about this foundation is the different levels of coverage you can achieve with it. When you apply it like this you can hardly tell you're wearing any. Some of my natural flush still shows through and I don't ususally cover up spots so I wear it to give myself a little bit of colour, not to create a 'flawless' base.
I've also been using the bronzer, blush and highlight from the Urban Decay Naked On the Run palette (review here) since it's the only palette I took with me. The 'highlight' is actually an eyeshadow but I always used to use Urban Decay eyeshadows as highlights before discovering theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer so I've been doubling it up. The face products in the palette don't work with my skin tone perfectly so I don't reach for them when I'm at home, but for a couple of days away it's no problem. Especially if I'm just wearing everyday makeup and I'm not going to be on camera.
Eyes »
This look is so simple to do and only uses a couple of the shades from the same palette; Resist on the lid & a touch of the Bronzer through the socket to add some warmth. Resist is going to look killer on everyone who wears it. I really hope they release it as a single shadow or include it in future non limited edition palettes. I've also been digging this 24/7 Glide-On Eye Liner Pencil in Stag. It's amazing on the waterline and such a beautiful colour!
The lip gloss is a 'your lips but better' kind of shade, at least it is for me, so it's an easy shade to just throw on if you don't want to spend much time getting ready or just want an effortless look.

Urban Decay have done it again! The Naked On The Run palette is one of their latest offerings and it has very quickly become one of my favourites.

I decided to wait a couple of weeks before posting this review and I'll explain why... I really wanted to see if I could use only this palette while I was away over Christmas and the new year to truly test if it was a good 'travel palette'. Usually I take a couple of eyeshadow palettes with me and a bazillion different products but this time I challenged myself to take only this palette and didn't allow myself to take any alternative products to the ones the palette included. So no bronzer, no blush, eyeshadows... etc and it really forced me to use and become familiar with the products.

The palette is a good size for travel. Hold out your hand and spread your fingers... It's about that size give or take an inch. It's compact, looks sleek, has a rose gold metallic finish and once again has some awesome artwork on the front. I like.

There are six new eyeshadow shades:
Dive 'metallic rose with golden micro-shimmer'
Fix 'soft taupe matte'
Resist 'medium metallic taupe'
Dare 'medium matte brown'
Stun 'metallic bronze with light gold micro-shimmer'
5050 'cool bisque satin' (Swatched below, not above.) This can also double up as a subtle highlight shade!

Urban Decay shadows have always been some of my favourites. They're always super pigmented, easy to work with and have a good amount of wear time. Of course wear time differs from person to person but with my Avon primer I find these lasting a strong 6 to 8 hours before they start creasing on me.

Bronzer » 'medium bronze matte'

One of the only downfalls of this palette is the bronzer, in my opinion. There is no such thing as a universal bronzer so it's not going to work for everyone. I feel like it's not going to show up on deep skin tones so much and can look quite orange on fair skin tones although it can be applied with a light hand for a subtler look or built up if you need to.

Blush » 'vibrant pink with light shimmer'

The blush has a touch of shimmer in it which I've really been liking in a blush recently. It's not overpowering, you can barely tell it's there, but it does give you a subtle glow. The colour, like the bronzer, can be subtle or intense.

24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil » 'deep brown satin'
As you'll see in the video below, the liner does indeed 'glide-on' and it lasts a good amount of time on the waterline too.

Travel size Perversion Mascara » This mascara is super black. The formula isn't too dry or too wet, it's a happy medium. You can also build up the coats with this formula to get a fuller look.

Full size Naked Lipgloss in the shade Sesso » 'rose with pink shimmer'
Adds some colour to the lips and stays put without being too sticky.

I really do like this palette. Although I won't use some of the products, like the bronzer and blush, in my day to day life, I still find myself reaching for this palette to use everything else even though I'm back home now and have all my other products available to me.
This is the palette I'll now take with me when I'm visiting home or staying away for the weekend. And if I lived any kind of healthy life style and had ever seen the inside of a gym or a pool, this is the palette I would take with me to touch up afterwards. I don't exactly know how it's going to hold up in the long run since there are two slots for travel-size products that I might not be able to fill but I'm thinking I might end up depotting the eyeshadows and putting them in a Z Palette or something later on.
This look is quite possibly one of my most requested look of all time. After posting a shot of it on social media and seeing everyone's reactions I knew I had to film a tutorial. Somehow I managed to lose half of the footage so I had to re-do it but it's finally up on my YouTube channel!
I've been obsessed with rusty tones recently and deep wine coloured lips so this very quickly became one of my new go-to looks.

For this video Lilian Tahmasian and I teamed up to bring you guys some party makeup inspiration perfect for New Year's Eve or any other events you might be going to during this party season. Funnily enough we ended up doing two very different looks so there's a light and dark look to choose from!

I don't think I've ever actually done anything for New Year's as I'm not much of a party gal or very much into tradition so for me this look has just been added to my selection of 'fancy go-to looks'. You know the looks you wear when you have that extra bit of time to get ready and want to up your makeup game for the day? One of those.

Two products I want to point out in this post » OCC Metallic Lip Tar in Black Metal Dahlia and Sigma Loose Shimmer in Midsummer (affiliate link). If you don't already own these then you need to add them to your shopping list. I was blown away by the quality and colour of these products and I think every avid makeup wearer should have them in their collection!

This week I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with NikkieTutorials! We've known each other for years now and both have a lot of love for the weird and wonderful makeup looks so I'm pretty surprised we haven't worked together sooner! For our collab the theme was 'fantasy forest dwelling creatures' so I created a fairy and Nikkie created an elf. Fun stuff!

I decided to make my character a Winter Forest Fairy since it's winter here. But since I plan on doing a bunch of fantasy looks on my channel, an Ice Queen being one of them, I didn't want to go full on with the icy looking makeup because I want to do that later on when I have the skill to.
How much do you want to wear sparkly brows after watching Nikkie's video? I can't believe how wearable she made them look!
I'll start by saying I'm a huge Urban Decay fan, especially when it comes to their eyeshadows, so when I found out there would be a bunch of eyeshadow palettes coming out this year I was excited to say the least. I have a few palettes to review but today I'll be sharing my thoughts on the Vice 3 palette!

£42

20 new shades

Selection of different finishes

Comes with a dual-ended brush & zipper bag

The Vice 3 palette has twenty all new shades and the they're arranged according to colour coordination - each shade in every 4 pan column works together which makes pairing up shades a walk in the park. It makes the Vice 3 an ideal palette if you're wanting to branch out into wearing more colour but aren't too sure how to. (And definitely ideal if you're a beginner!) I personally have always struggled with understanding colour so this palette is great for me too.
Finishes » matte, satin, sparkle and metallic. Tones » mostly warm with a few cool shades

Urban Decay eyeshadows are some of the most pigmented shadows I've ever used. I've always enjoyed how velvety they feel, how they apply and how nicely they blend and this palette is no exception. As for longevity, the shadows last around 4 to 5 hours on me before they start to crease which is awesome wear time for someone with slightly hooded eyes that love to get their grease on.

So it wouldn't be a fair review if I didn't point out some cons but I'm honestly grasping at straws here. There is slight fall out in some of the glittery shades which can be a problem in the darker shades if you do your base first although, I do my base last so wiping away any fall out hasn't been an issue for me. The shade Truth is a tad powdery but still easy to work with so I'm really nitpicking now.

I have a love hate relationship with the packaging of this palette. The case is reflective with this cool design on the front with a bright lime green back and it's absolutely gorgeous until you touch it. Unless you obsessively clean the packaging of your palettes then you're just going to have to live with grubby finger prints all over it all the time. The same applies for the brush. I still really like it, though! The case is super slim and comes with a zipper bag which can also be used as a makeup/brush/whatever-you-want bag which is a nice touch.

I can't compare this Vice palette to any of the previous ones since this is the first one I've tried, but from looking at photos of the previous ones I'd say that the colours are more on the 'safe' side with this one. Aside from the second column I'd say these colours are really easy to wear. These shades are exactly my kind of thing. I can see myself using this palette for the simplest and softest of looks (as rare as that might be) all the way up to the heaviest and grungiest of looks. I think this palette is really worth the buy and I can't wait to share some looks with you guys!
Today I've teamed up with River Island to create some makeup looks to go along with some outfits! Since we're coming up to party season I picked out a few dresses from their partywear section and decided to go from quite a casual daytime look to a glamorous evening look, building up the makeup intensity as I went. I'm hoping that this way there's going to be a bit of something for everyone! It's like a haul, four makeup tutorials and a giveaway all in one tasty little video.
November was all about the rusty eyeshadows and wine coloured lipsticks for me. I don't think I've uploaded a photo where I haven't been sporting a bold lip this entire month!
Ohhh whatup new foundation?! Not really. I've been using this foundation for a while now (tarte Amazonian Clay - review here) but I really feel like I've settled into a routine with this foundation now and I'm very happy I decided to bust out of my comfort zone and try something new. In these colder months, the slight bit of hydration the foundation provides is making a huge difference; my skin doesn't feel as dried out when I remove my foundation at the end of the day anymore.
Rust. RUST EVERYWHERE. The palette I've been using most this month is Sigma's Brilliant & Spellbinding palette. I thought this was one of my least favourite Sigma palettes (the pigmentation is a little off in some shades) but considering it's the only palette on my vanity, aside from my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, it's actually turning into one of my favourites. Weird, huh?
Tutorial coming next week!
I've been looking into these magical spinning skin cleaning devices recently and after years of declining offers to try out similar devices, I decided to take the plunge and say 'yes!' to the Vitagoods Face & Body Cleansing Brush. Skin care isn't something I've really bothered with until recently (after noticing things that weren't there before!) so this is definitely new territory for me.
I only tend to use this if I have dry patches that need the dead skin buffing off, or when the pores in my nose are looking especially clogged up. Tasty stuff. Holding this on the skin for too long will do more damage than good though, so please bear that in mind! The first time I used this attachment I used it for far too long on the same area and didn't have any skin on my chin and nose for a week!

Body Brush »

'The Body brush has a larger brush head to help cover more of your body in less amount of time. The Body brush exfoliates the skin leaving a more radiant, clean, and healthy look.'

This brush is the whole reason I wanted to try this kit and is the brush I use most often. As someone who has basically translucent skin on my chest area and shoulders, you can really see when there is dirt in the pores and I find myself constantly picking at my skin because I'm so aware of it. This brush however has made such a difference to the skin in those areas and I use it every morning in the shower to get rid of that nasty bed grime.

Pumice Stone »

'Pumice Stones help eliminate rough and dead skin cells from your heels.'

I don't really have any problems with dry skin on my feet so I can't really comment on this head although it's a pumice stone so I'm pretty sure it's going to work just fine.
Overall I am so pleased with this handy little device. When I asked about this product on my Facebook page, a lot of people seemed to use it and like it so I was pretty confident about it being reliable anyway. I've been testing out this device for almost two months now and it has found itself a happy little place in my new (previously non-existing) skin care routine. The body brush especially has made a world of difference to my skin. However, I've been reading about oscillating brushes versus spinning brushes, like this one, and I definitely think I would like to move on to an oscillating brush eventually since in the long term it's said that spinning brushes can cause damage due to dragging the skin. But, since this one is much cheaper than other ones on the market I think this is a good place to start to see if you're suited to using a device like this before splashing the cash on something you might not end up.
The other week Shien Cosmetics got in touch to ask if I wanted to try out some of their lipsticks. I was so blown away by the presentation of the website and the beautiful swatches and the alluring and sensual feel of the brand that I replied immediately and spent the next week waiting eagerly at the door for the postman!
The lipsticks are formulated with 'gold and olive-toned Asian skin tones' in mind but that doesn't mean they won't look good on a wide range of skin tones. I'm pretty pale and haven't seen the sun in over one thousand years but I still love these colours on myself.

The lipsticks I picked out have matte finishes but they aren't drying, they're super creamy and just glide on to the lips. I find that they last for a good few hours before they start to break up in the middle and need reapplying. I really like these lipsticks and have been wearing Viper's Kiss and Shanghai Rose non-stop since they arrived! The only disappointing thing is the fact that three bullets have already snapped off and two of them arrived that way. However, I fixed them using the trusty old lighter/fridge trick and they're good to go again so I'm not too bothered about it.

Today's video is an exciting one! My friend Lena and I finally put our heads together and collaborated. I did a makeup look inspired by one of Lena's watercolour paintings and she painted one of my photos in her usual beautiful style.

I've loved this painting ever since Lena created it and I've wanted to do a look inspired by it for quite literally years.

For the hair, I merged my final images with the hair/background from Lena's painting to make it look more like the original. I wore a grey wig in the photos then added the hair layer and lowered the opacity to make it look more like a tint on the 'real' hair underneath. Another way to do it would be to alter a white or grey wig with some hair chalks for a similar effect!
I was absolutely blown away by Lena's video. I can't believe how much it actually looks like me! Especially considering we haven't met in person yet so she doesn't have any 'real life' reference either! Crazy stuff. I've loved Lena and her work for years (even before I had a channel!) so it's so exciting to me that I'm now on her channel and she took time out of her life to paint my little face.

During October I spent most of my time in a creative rut (as most of you well know - ahem, lack of content), so my makeup was stripped right down to the bare minimum because in all honesty, I just couldn't be bothered. All about the honesty here!

Although my creative juices are flowing again and I'm back to experimenting with makeup, this basic look isn't going anywhere. This look has become a personal favourite of mine as it's very easy to just throw on if I only have five or ten minutes to get ready.

Face »
I feel like I actually use a lot of products on my face considering how simple this makeup looks, but they're all really easy to apply. I start by squirting a small amount of Benefit thePOREfessional Primer, L'Oreal Lumi Magique Illuminating Primer and Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream onto my finger (all together only amounting to a pea size), then I smush them all together and then I apply all over my face! It's a very natural finish and I really like how it looks.

I'll use a tiny bit of concealer in the inner corner area right by the sides of my nose then set that with a little bit of translucent powder. I'm not big on concealing spots because I don't care about them, but dark circles I'm not a fan of.

I use a cream stick blush (Tea Rose by NYX) to add some colour into my cheeks. Using a cream product helps to keep my skin looking fresh and slightly dewy looking.

Eyes »
The eyes are very simple. All I use is my bronzer shade through the socket, some mascara, and if my eyes are looking especially tired and red that day I'll also use a cream colour along the waterline to brighten up my eyes. My favourite at the moment is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof liner in 005 Nude which was sent to me by a lovely subscriber! <3

Brows »
All I use on the brows is a bit of Sigma Brow Powder and then I run over them with the Benefit Gimmie Brow.

Lips »
I have a few products I like to alternate between when it comes to a lip for basic makeup. My top pick is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me (although I think I left this in a hotel in Brighton the other week), next is the Burt's Bee's Tinted Lip Balm in Black Dahlia and finally Dr Pepper Lip Balm, believe it or not! tarte has been on my radar for a while now but until recently it's been pretty difficult to get your hands on here in the UK. Now some of tarte's products are available on QVC and a little birdy told me that they might be expanding the range of products they offer over here some time soon.
The first thing I noticed was the texture. It's quite thick and more like a cream than a liquid so a little definitely goes a long way. Huzzah!

The coverage, in my opinion, is medium coverage but can be built up. The photos below are unedited (apart from a brightness boost) so you can see up close and personal how it really looks on the skin. Here's a look at the different levels of coverage:
Second layer of foundation. No concealer or corrector.

Two layers of foundation plus concealer and corrector over spots and dark circles.

I personally like to wear just a thin layer of the foundation, like in the first photo, to balance out the colour of my skin and then use concealer to over up anything else like darkness around the eyes and any obvious spots. When you start building the foundation too much you risk it looking cakey and creasing.

The finish is matte but if you're prone to getting oily in areas I would recommend setting those areas with a powder to prevent the foundation from breaking up which I did experience the first time I tried the foundation and didn't set in those areas. I also set my forehead and around my mouth to prevent those areas creasing up.

I'm really pleased with this foundation and the fact it stays on no problem throughout the day. I've been looking for something similar to Estée Lauder Double Wear but a tad less 'cement-like' (as it can be quite drying) but I wanted something just as full coverage and something that wouldn't move around through the day and I think I've found it! Next I want to get my hands on their concealer!

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

You can buy from tarte's website here or from QVC here.

We all know I love myself a cheeky new Sigma collection so when my friend at Sigma got in touch and asked if I wanted to do a giveaway along with my usual review & demo of their new collection, of course I said yes! Sigma is one of my favourite brands and I think you'll love them too. (If you don't already!)

The thing I like about this eyeshadow palette is that it's not your typical 'fall' palette. 'Where are the rusty brown hues?!' I hear you cry. The colours are icy and cold looking and scream winter to me. (Some of them are almost spring-like too.) Do you remember Sigma's Creme de Couture palette? It has the same kind of vibe with the unusual yet welcome shades.

The pigmentation is pretty nice throughout although since most if these shades are light, you may need to add a white base if you want the colours to pop. As always with Sigma shadows, they're very easy to apply and blend and last the day on the lids as long as you're using a primer.
I've been enjoying lip glosses a lot recently so I'm happy to have three more in my collection. These Sigma ones are really lovely. They're thick and creamy and have a good amount of colour to them. At first I was a little confused about how to use the brown gloss and not have it look like I'd just eaten a chocolate glazed doughnut, but if you wear it over top of the oh so popular 90s nude-brown lipstick, then you're good to go!
Finally, the Lip Bases which are essentially chunky lip pencils. I LOVE these. Sigma hasn't done anything like this before so I was pretty excited to try them out. They're matte, easy to apply and last a good amount of time on the lips. Since I'm into a glossy finish at the moment I've been pairing them with a lipgloss, but you can definitely wear these on their own.
These lipsticks are all matte shades with creamy yet long lasting formulas. I've been living in my 1995 lipstick for the past month or so and I haven't found myself having to touch it up through the day which is always something that puts a lip product in my good books. When I found out that Jaclyn Hill was working with GC to develop her own shade (now shades), I knew I could trust the formulation because she's definitely someone whose opinion you can trust and she wouldn't put her name to something if it was bad quality.

Although they're matte, they're not drying in the slightest. (They may look a tad drying in the photos, but I promise that's just the dragon scaled lips of a dehydrated blogger.)
EDIT: After writing this post and wearing more of these shades, I find that Tequila Sunrise and All Dolled Up, after some wear, tend to look a little dried out. They fade in the centre and cling to any dry skin you might have on your lips. I probably wouldn't recommend these shades if your lips are often chapped!

Something I've seen people complain about is the smell of these lipsticks so I wanted to address that here just in case you were wondering. They don't smell the greatest but they don't smell bad and it certainly doesn't put me off using them. They smell somewhat plastic-y but not 'stale' like I've seen some people describe the smell. I wonder if people have become so accustomed to the delicious smell of MAC lipsticks and forgotten how 'meh' lipsticks usually smell? I don't know. It doesn't bother me. I'm not sticking the bullet up my nose holes.

The only thing that disappointed me with these lipsticks is their presentation. The above photo was taken before I'd used them. A couple of the lipsticks had deep scratches in the packaging, many of the lipsticks have grooves and dents down the bullet, and one of them was smushed right into the lid and the bullet wasn't even attached anymore. I hate to say it, because the word sounds so snobby, but they do look somewhat cheap to me. BUT. That doesn't mean that I don't recommend them and don't love their formula. The formula is beautiful. I just think presentation needs a lil work.

For this video I wanted to do a newly 'Infected' zombie look. My original plan was to go with a really ill looking makeup and a zombie bite to suggest that the person had been bitten and was slowly turning into a zombie. Then I got carried away with the boils and the green and purple colour palette and I decided to ditch the bite completely because the boils were definitely enough!

I've been watching The Walking Dead this week (all four season in three days to be exact) so I've developed quite the obsession with zombie makeup. I've always admired the makeup on the show and always said that's the kind of show I'd want to work on, back in the day when I wanted to do makeup for film and TV, but I'd never actually watched the show. I've wanted to watch it for ages but never got round to it until recently and man was I missing out!

Like I mention at the end of the video, I've been going through a bit of a creative rut recently and haven't liked anything I've filmed for the past two weeks but I'm back now! I feel inspired and I've planned a lot of looks and I think my channel is going to see a lot more character looks/creative projects from now on!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17085884970159200659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4873280712165181266.post-23558904093417029392014-10-24T16:42:00.001+01:002014-10-30T14:01:08.886+00:00Zoella Beauty

Well, well, well... Look what we have here! I'm sure if you watch YouTube videos and you haven't been living under a rock for the past couple of years then you're probably already subscribed to the delight that is Zoella. A couple of weeks ago she launched her very own range of pamper products and the beauty blogging world erupted with pride and joy. It's always such a nice thing to see internet folk creating things out there in the real world! It's also lovely to see how supportive other bloggers are too.
The same applies here; I haven't had the chance to try this in the bath yet but this is my current shower cream. Every time I use it I spend the day smelling absolutely divine. Scent it such a personal thing but I can't imagine anyone smelling this and not liking it. It's such a delicate scent and not overpowering. I'll definitely be buying myself another once I finish this one.
Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion
'A totally tempting dream cream for a smooth and silky body. This indulgent body lotion will pamper your skin and is enriched with Vitamin E, Aloe and Shea Butter to soften and condition the body.'
The body lotion works perfectly with the bath soak/shower cream and again, makes you smell wonderful. Brad, my partner, actually used some of this because he'd run out of his body lotion and when I walked into the bedroom the smell had literally filled them room. (Then I felt pretty good knowing that's how I've been smelling for the past week. Pretty good indeed! Hehe.) Because I have sensitive skin irritation was something I was concerned about since these products are scented but I haven't had any issues so far!

Let's Glow Scented Candle
'Delicately scented candle to create your own relaxing space. This cute and calming candle will help you free your mind with its gentle blend of white wood accents, sweet vanilla and soft floral notes.'
Now this little guy has to be my favourite part of the collection that I've tried so far (close second being the Soak Opera). When I was taking blog photos last week I had the lid off and the smell stole the show. It was so distracting because it was so good. I have to admit I think it smells stronger when it's not lit but that still hasn't stopped me from using up the whole thing in less than a week! That reminds me... I need to hunt down another one.

Finally, can we just take a moment to appreciate the packing of these products? It's so stinking cute! And as everyone has said, it's very 'Zoella'.

I can't help but feel so incredibly proud of Zoe. She's such a great role model for young women and girls and I think she deserves all of her success. I love whenever YouTubers expand their brand into the 'real world'. It's such an inspiring and encouraging thing to know that a girl who started out making videos in her bedroom can turn into a successful business woman with a brand and army of support behind her. Amazing what the internet can do, eh? Hits me right in the feels. So proud of these internet ladies doing inspiring things.

You can buy Zoella Beauty at Superdrug and feelunique. The product prices range from £5 to £8.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17085884970159200659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4873280712165181266.post-44977414729838692162014-10-16T17:31:00.001+01:002014-10-16T17:31:56.753+01:00Makeup of the Month | September

It's Makeup of the Month time! I almost stopped writing these posts because I was worried they had been the same for far too long but I've finally thrown a few more new products into the mix and freshened things up around here!

Since I've been expressing my creativity through my character looks recently, I haven't felt the need to do so in my regular makeup. Not that I have to choose between one or the other, I've just been way more excited about character makeup and sfx recently so glamour makeup has taken the back seat for a while.

Face »
I still haven't ordered myself some more Estée Lauder Double Wear because I just keep forgetting to, so I've just been wearing my Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream instead. If you're interested in seeing my base routine including this product then I do feature it in this tutorial!

Eyes »
Sigma recently brought out a new eyeshadow palette so I've been trying out some of the new shades this month. There are plenty more interesting shades in the palette and I've been wearing the toasty red-brown colours a lot this month too so it was difficult to decide which look I've been wearing the most. I settled on the greys since it was the look I was wearing on the day I decided to take these photos for this post. The red-brown look I'm talking about (worn in this video) will definitely be part of my autumn/fall videos next month so keep an eye out for that!
Lips »
Now I know you're dying to know what's on my lips because I mean, come on now... Just look at that colour! [insert love heart eyes emoji here] This is the fabulous Jaclyn Hill's lipstick, 1995, by Gerard Cosmetics. The colour is supposed to be inspired by the popular Kylie Jenner lip she's been rocking recently. I for one am very bored of seeing the same Kylie looks pop up everywhere now but I'm definitely glad there are now an abundance of 90s nude-brown lip colours showing up because I do love this kind of shade.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered some lipsticks from the Beauty B Cosmetics site and when they arrived I was surprised to see these two lil guys in my package too! Pleasantly surprised might I add. Who doesn't love unexpected free stuff?

So the idea is you pump the product into the centre of the bristles by pressing the button on the bottom and then you apply to your nail. It's as simple as that.

I didn't know if I'd like this product because I've never worked with anything like this before. My main concerns were how evenly the product would apply and whether the bristles would end up hard and difficult to work with because of product build up. Neither of those things were a problem. The product went on smoothly and evenly, and the polish can easily be removed from the bristles with some nail polish remover. Although, just this morning I used it again without cleaning off the remaining product and the bristles weren't hard or anything!

The thing I really like about these products is their packaging. After looking into the brand I found that each product has a different piece of artwork on the packaging and they all belong to a different artist. I generally don't like when brands change the packaging from product to product, I think inconsistency usually looks very unprofessional, but there's just something about these that I really do like. The design is different from product to product but the shape of the packaging is consistent throughout and I believe they're all from the same brand and haven't just been lumped together at a jumble sale. I love it. Also, the artists get a cut of the profit made from each product which is awesome!
I really would like to try out more of these nail polish pens. They're a good little idea and seem really practical. You can use them on the go and not run the risk of accidentally knocking over the bottle like you can with traditional nail polishes. (At least I know this has happened to me one too many times on train journeys!) They have some stunning colours and I'm definitely going to pick up some more the next time I have some spare pennies. What do you think? :)

This week I decided I'd try filming a 'Get Ready With Me' video... Usually I do voice-overs so this was really different for me and somewhat nerve wracking if I'm honest!

I decided to do a GRWM video because I had so many videos I wanted to film on that day. I wanted to film my current go-to look, a regular makeup tutorial (to balance out the crazy I've been uploading recently) and the Rae Morris brush review I'd promised a lot of you. Instead of doing them all separately I decided to smush them all together into one video! The feedback so far has been wonderful so I will definitely make a habit of filming GRWM videos. They're difficult to do in my current living situation (my neighbours don't work so they never leave and constantly play music and punch each other - I wish I was kidding, and there's a construction site on the other side) but I will try my hardest to work around the noise for now and then next year I'm pretty sure I'm moving to a bigger place in Brighton and I'll be able to film whenever I'd like then!

We didn't really set ourselves any rules, we just went away and did our own thing. I did a Moon Elf and Klaire did a Dying Elf which you can watch here.
Recently I've been watching a lot of cosplay videos and learning about all the different techniques used for making costumes/armour and I decided to give it a go and made my very first breastplate! It's a little rough around the edges and not very symmetrical but I am SO proud of how it turned out. I'm actually turning a corner of my kitchen into a little workshop so I can continue making my own costumes, so once I start my second channel I will definitely document it and take you on my learning journey with me!
This video had a very short turn around time. I actually managed to film, do audio, edit it all together and edit the final photo in less than 24 hours which is quite the achievement since my videos usually take around 2-3 days! The reason I had such a small amount of time was because on the day I'd set aside for filming earlier in the week the look didn't turn out how I wanted it to. It was a Dark Elf warrior but I just wasn't happy with how she looked so I scrapped that idea (for now anyway). The day after I had press tickets to cover a gaming event. And then it was the day before upload day and I still didn't have a character so I just sat down and made it up as I went along. Half way through I realised I was creating a Moon Elf, so I just went with it and I'm so happy with how she turned out!

I'm definitely going to be doing an elf series on my channel since I had so much fun with this one. I sat around in my house like this all day and didn't want to wash it off!
